An outdoor wood pellet heater combines warmth with the sight of real flames. FireRocket is intended for gardens and patios and works differently from an electrically powered pellet stove for home heating. While burning, no mains electricity or connected gas cylinder is needed. For ignition, use a separate handheld gas torch as instructed in the manual; it is not included.
What is a wood pellet FireRocket?
A FireRocket is a manually operated outdoor heater. Before lighting, fill the reservoir with suitable wood pellets and follow the model's manual. Natural airflow creates a vertical flame in the glass tube. There is no app, thermostat, fan or electric feed auger.
This makes the design straightforward and flexible to position, but not automatic or maintenance-free. Always supervise it while burning; you can carefully top up the wood pellets. Do not touch the metal parts around the filling opening, and keep the bag of wood pellets at a safe distance. Only move or clean the heater once the fire is out and all components have cooled completely.

Why wood pellets?
Wood pellets are compressed wood particles with a consistent shape. Dry wood pellets of consistent quality help create a steadier flame display and reduce unnecessary smoke, ash and deposits. FireRocket recommends dry, good-quality ENplus A1 wood pellets. Check your model’s manual for the required dimensions and other fuel specifications.
Store bags dry, off the ground and away from the burning appliance. Do not use damp, badly crumbled or unknown fuel. Read more about quality, storage and checks in the importance of choosing the right wood pellets.
Warmth and the experience of fire on the patio
A FireRocket warms its immediate surroundings and creates a visible focal point with its flame display. How much warmth you feel depends on factors including wind, outdoor temperature, shelter and distance from the seating area. The appliance is not a main heating source and is not intended to heat a home or enclosed space.
The FireRocket 83 cm is the more compact model. The FireRocket Pro 170 cm has a taller, more striking flame display. For current prices, stock, reservoir capacity and indicative burn times, always check the product pages or compare both versions in the outdoor pellet heater collection.
Safe use
- Only use the heater outdoors or in a suitable outdoor space with good permanent ventilation.
- Stand it upright on a level, stable, non-combustible surface.
- Observe all safety clearances in the manual.
- Keep children, pets and combustible materials away.
- Never leave a burning appliance unattended.
- Do not use the heater in rain, strong winds or other adverse weather conditions.
Cleaning and storage
Carry out cleaning and ash removal only once the appliance has cooled completely. Keep air openings clear, clean the cooled glass tube with a soft cloth or kitchen paper and a suitable glass cleaner, and regularly check the glass, fixings and stability.
Once completely cool, store the FireRocket dry and protected. This reduces moisture, rust and weather damage. For a complete step-by-step guide, see the article on outdoor pellet heater maintenance.
Is a wood pellet heater right for you?
A FireRocket suits you if you want real flames and warmth outdoors, without a fixed electricity or gas connection while burning, and are willing to operate the appliance manually and safely. If you want automatic temperature control or home heating, you need a different type of heating system.
